Get to know me:
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Evans and I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate in the State of Washington (MG61012470). I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work at Eastern Washington University and then received my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University. I have worked with children, adolescents, and their families while at Volunteers of America and Passages Family Support. I have education and experience working with individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults as well as with couples and families.
Besides being a counselor, I am also a parent, appreciator of art, music, comedy, animals, and nature. I love traveling and have spent time living abroad, which has been extremely enriching and enlightening. I love to meet new people in all walks of life as everyone has something unique and valuable to learn from. I am a longtime resident of Spokane and love this community. It’s an honor to do this work and I appreciate the role I have working with people on their healing journeys.

What is my approach to healing?
I have used Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, DBT skills, Motivational Interviewing, and EMDR techniques working with individuals. Working with couples, I utilize Gottman methods as well as Emotionally-Focused Therapy techniques. No matter what technique and modality used, I remain client-centered and use unconditional positive regard. I am firm in my beliefs and admiration of the resilience we as humans possess to heal and grow.
