Get to know me:
I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in 2008 and a Master of Professional Counseling with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Grand Canyon University in 2020. As a masters level intern, I provided mental health therapy to women survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through the Women Center of Greater Lansing in Lansing, Michigan. Since graduation, I have worked as a mental health professional in various settings, working with clients involved in the criminal justice system, as well as those struggling with substance use. My goals as a therapist is to help clients heal from their struggles and give a voice to those who have had it taken from them.
What struggles am I most skilled at addressing as a mental health professional?
Anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, substance use disorders, life changes, grief and loss, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Jamie is an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and is skilled in providing support to those who are veterans or married to veterans.
What populations do I work with?
Adults 20 years old and older.
What is my approach to healing?
As a therapist, my goal is to help clients build strength and find peace and calm after traumatic experiences, whether during their childhood or as an adult. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
