Medicaid Apple Health Plans cover medical mental health services in full for most services we offer and for most diagnoses.
We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards as forms of payment. We also accept payment via PayPal; if necessary please ask about other ways to pay.
Sliding Fee Scale
A Refuge offers a Sliding Fee Discount Program, designed to provide free or discounted care to those who have no means, or limited means, to pay for their medical services (uninsured or underinsured). In addition to quality healthcare, patients are entitled to financial counseling by someone who can understand and offer possible solutions for those who cannot pay in full. A Refuge bases program eligibility solely on a person’s ability to pay and will not discriminate on the basis of an individual’s race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The Federal Poverty Guidelines are used in creating and annually updating the sliding fee schedule to determine eligibility.
A request for discounted services may be made by the patient, a family, or a case manager or social service staff on the client’s behalf. To request an application, please contact out Administrative Staff at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive a prompt reply with the necessary forms and documents to complete and return.

It is important to note that, while A Refuge: Trauma Informed Therapies may be contracted with the following plans, each insurance company has individual rules that may preclude some providers from seeing members within a particular plan. Payment for Services
Payment is expected at time of service. We accept cash, check and all major credit cards as forms of payment. We process credit card payments through Theranest and Paypal.
If payment cannot be made at time of service, please speak to our administrative staff who handles billing. We do our best to work with each person’s unique needs. We are a small practice that must be vigilant to care for the overall financial health of the practice so that we can remain in service. Your cooperation is deeply appreciated.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. This is a courtesy and shows respect for your care and your therapist’s time. Failure to provide 24 hours’ notice may result in a $75.00 cancellation fee. Clients who fail three (3) appointments will may face termination and referral to outside resources. Should you fail to schedule an appointment for three (3) consecutive weeks – unless other arrangements have been made in advance – for legal and ethical reasons we will consider the professional relationship discontinued.
