Welcome to Trauma Informed Therapies

“Story is a yearning meeting an obstacle.”

-Robert Olen Butler

The story of Trauma Informed Therapies is a story much like this quote – a “yearning meeting an obstacle”. Amanda Salisbury, founder of Trauma Informed Therapies, began to dream about a group practice while she was in private practice from 2006-2008. Noticing that there was a lack of access to well-trained trauma-informed therapists to serve low-income trauma survivors she began to imagine a way to meet this need in such a way that provided care for the therapists as well. After working tirelessly consulting with peer professionals, local businesses, insurance authorities, law specialists, and business experts, Trauma Informed Therapies was born.

The name “Trauma Informed Therapies” originated from a desire to entice clients to seek out trauma-informed care with the recognition that therapists at this group practice offer a quality of care in which harm is reduced. The quest to employ quality providers came out of Amanda’s love for training and supervision. Amanda loves to train and supervise new clinicians on their journey to become a quality trauma-informed caregiver to those in need. While supervising her employees, she also partners with clinicians in their own professional development by attending to their resiliency due to vicarious trauma.

As a client, you will encounter a clinician who believes in client-centered change, is trauma-informed, and genuinely cares for you. From the administrative staff to clinician – Trauma Informed Therapies exists to serve your therapeutic needs. It is our hope that you find a clinician that can meet you in your journey and assist you through the challenges you face.
